Residency programs go for the gold
The National Residency Abstract Olympics recognizes top-performing programs for accepted paper and video abstracts at AUA2026.

The spirit of competition was on full display at AUA2026 as residency programs from across the country competed in the National Residency Abstract Olympics, an annual challenge recognizing programs with the highest number of accepted scientific paper and video abstracts at the AUA Annual Meeting.
Designed to celebrate academic productivity and resident scholarship, the competition honors programs that demonstrate exceptional commitment to research and scientific discovery. Residency programs are grouped by size, creating an equitable playing field while highlighting the depth and breadth of research across urology training programs nationwide. The rankings are based on the volume of accepted submissions to the AUA Annual Meeting.
This year's winners:
Gold | Cleveland Clinic Urology
Silver | Northwestern Medicine Urology
Bronze | Weill Cornell Medicine Urology
The National Residency Abstract Olympics debuted last year and quickly became a popular way to recognize the academic achievements of urology residency programs. The competition reflects the growing importance of resident-led research and highlights institutions that consistently contribute new science to the specialty.
