Meet your 2025 AUA Residents Bowl champions!
Bragging rights belong to the Rocky Mountain Oysters.

South Central Section’s “Rocky Mountain Oysters” team took home top honors in this year’s AUA Residents Bowl, a fan-favorite event held in the Science & Technology Hall during AUA2025.
Now in its 12th year, the AUA Residents Bowl brought together top resident talent from across the eight AUA Sections—plus international trainees—for a spirited test of urologic knowledge. Questions spanned the full spectrum of urology subspecialties, historical milestones and emerging research, all designed to foster competition and Section pride.
The South Central team defeated the North Central Section’s “Clot Evacs” in a hard-fought final round, clinching victory in the ultimate battle of the brains.
The 2025 winning team included these residents:
- Skyler Howell – University of Texas at Houston (Houston, Texas)
- Austin Kazarian – UT Southwestern (Dallas, Texas)
- Emily Biben – University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (Little Rock, Arkansas)
- Shannon Hall – University of Texas Health Science Center (San Antonio, Texas)
- Hunter Flores – University of Colorado (Aurora, Colorado)
- Gregor Duwe – University Medical Center Mainz (Mainz, Germany)
- Marco Ascencio – General Hospital "Dr. Manuel Gea González" (Mexico City, Mexico)
Congratulations to all the teams that competed—and especially to the champions from the South Central Section—for keeping the spirit of competition, camaraderie and academic excellence alive at AUA2025.
