Jay G. Baitler
Jay G. Baitler is the former Executive Vice President, Staples Contract Division, serving from 2004 until his retirement in 2013. Prior to joining Staples in 1995, Baitler served as the Northeast Regional President at BT Office Products and President of Summit Office Supply. He oversaw significant growth at Staples, both organic and acquired, and was personally responsible for the $4.4 billion acquisition of Corporate Express, one of the largest acquisition in Staples’ history.
Baitler is currently an operating partner with Atlas Holdings, a private equity firm. Atlas Holdings is a diversified group of manufacturing, distribution, service and trading businesses that operate in the building materials, capital equipment, energy, industrial services, packaging, pulp & paper, steel and trading & distribution segments. He served on the Board of Managers at Soundview Paper LLC, the advisory boards of Finch Paper LLC and Twin Rivers Paper Company, and the advisory council of Office Products International. He was an industry chairman of the Anti-Defamation League and director of Harvard Hillel. Baitler is a graduate of Union College and currently resides in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Michael W. Hodin, PhD
Michael W. Hodin, PhD, is Managing Partner at the High Lantern Group and CEO of The Global Coalition on Aging. He is also a blogger at The Fiscal Times under the Age and Reason Blog, and the HuffPost50. Dr. Hodin is a Fellow at Oxford University’s Harris Manchester College. From 1976-80 he was legislative assistant to Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan and a visiting scholar at Brookings Institution on U.S. Foreign Economic Policy. Dr. Hodin was a senior executive at Pfizer, Inc., for 30 years, where he created and then led its International Public Affairs and Public Policy operations.
Dr. Hodin is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and from 2010-13 was adjunct senior fellow. He sits on the boards of the Foreign Policy Association, Business Council for International Understanding, American Skin Association, Harris Manchester College, Oxford University, UK, Emigrant Savings Bank, where he is chairman of its compensation committee, and World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council for Population Ageing. Dr. Hodin holds a BA, cum laude, from Cornell University (1973), MSc in international relations from The London School of Economics and Political Science (1975), and MPhil and PhD in political science from Columbia University (1979).

The Foundation’s Board of Directors’ governance structure includes public directors, AUA member urologists, AUA’s treasurer and a president. The extensive knowledge of this group is invaluable as the Foundation forges ahead in its efforts to pave a way for advancements in urological research and patient education.
