Your time is valuable. We value your time.
AUA2018 in San Francisco is designed to meet your educational needs in a time-efficient manner. The four days of jam-packed interactive sessions is a sign that we value your time. Our 16,500 attendees will enjoy 156 poster and podium sessions, and 88 hours of plenary programming.
Where are the lectures? They have been largely replaced with interactive debates, case-based learning and panel discussions.
The theme of the plenary program is “there is no right answer.” Clinical management and surgical techniques will be the focus of the Prime Time plenary sessions, while cutting-edge concepts will be the focus of the Next Frontier plenary sessions.
New this year, the Chief Resident’s Debates will be featured in the Saturday afternoon plenary program, and so cheer our emerging leaders on as they debate the hot topics in urology. Also new this year will be rapid-fire “survivor” debates and crowdsourcing to assess surgical techniques.
The 2018 AUA guidelines on Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, Erectile Dysfunction and Testosterone Replacement will be presented in the Second Opinion Case-based learning format.
Monday is a full day! The plenary sessions will feature topics on oncology, female urology, reconstructive urology and urological emergencies. Poster and podium sessions will run until 4 pm, and the Take Home Messages will run in parallel sessions (Benign and Malignant) from 4–5:30 pm.
Our programming goal is to provide a stimulating platform for the exchange of new ideas.
On Friday evening the Urology Care Foundation will get ready to rock your socks off to help raise funds to support urological research. Come to the Mezzanine to witness Sticks and Stones and the Void flex their musical muscles, and test your talents with karaoke. And don’t forget the networking event on Saturday afternoon in the Science & Technology Hall.
Join us in San Francisco to attend sessions that will help you improve or reaffirm the quality of care you give to patients every day. This collegial environment will enable you to reconnect with those who have played a major role in your career.
So book your flights — come early, stay late. Take advantage of the golf, the wine and the Bay. San Francisco awaits you.
